Best-Ever Effortless BBQ Baby Back Ribs

SONY DSC

So these happened this weekend.

I suppose I won’t go into detail about how fall-off-the-bone tender these ribs are.  I won’t bore you with the details of the sticky sauce smothered on top.  And that perfect crispy char…I know you have no interest….so lets just talk for a second about how easy this recipe is to create and I’ll let you go about your day.

It’s so easy…..you’ll be feeling like you’re missing a step.  It’s so easy…you wont believe me when I tell you how stinking delicious these taste.  And so easy…well…they’re just easy, for the love of all things BBQ.

You season them up, wrap them in foil and pop them in the oven for about 2.5 hours.  And when they come out the will be the most tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned ribs ever.

But just to take things up to the level of ridiculous…you must then brush them with your favorite bbq sauce.

Best-Ever Effortless BBQ Baby Back Ribs

Ingredients

2 Racks Baby Back Ribs (approx 4-5 pounds)

2 1/2 Teaspoons Kosher Salt

2 Teaspoons Smoked Paprika

1 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper

1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

1 large Onion, thinly sliced

2-3 Cups Prepared BBQ Sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 300.  Place each rack of ribs on a sheet of heavy duty foil large enough to completely wrap the rack (you may have to use 2 pieces for each rack to ensure it is able to fully cover the ribs).  Sprinkle the tops of the ribs with salt, paprika, garlic powder and black pepper.  Drizzle the tops with olive oil and use your hands to massage the oil and seasonings all over both sides of the ribs.  Cover the seasoned ribs with sliced onion and wrap the ribs/onion tightly in the foil.  Place the foil packs on a baking sheet and bake for 2 1/2 hours.

Preheat grill over high heat.  Remove ribs from foil packets and discard the onion.  Brush a small amount of bbq sauce over the ribs-just enough to coat them(approx 1/3 cup on each rack).  Place ribs on the grill and cook approximately 5 minutes or until a nice char forms, flipping once in between cooking.  Serve with additional bbq sauce on the side.  Serves 4-6

  1. OK! I just pinned this recipe and hope to try it this weekend. Spence and I love ribs and as great as our cooking skills are, for some reason we’ve had epic rib-fails! Intrigued by the use of the word easy and I’m betting this will be a keeper! Many thanks…
