Smokey Pork and Citrus Kale Salad

SONY DSCCan you believe it’s February already?  How is this happening, you guys?  It seems like just yesterday we were in the midst of Thanksgiving preparation, and now, we are full blown into winter and darn near our decent into Spring.  Spring!  I mean I know I’m jumping the gun a bit here…but it will be here before we know it, no?

And that pretty much makes me feel all sorts of crazy emotions.  Because spring equals baby’s arrival…eek!  I can’t even begin to tell you how insanely fast this pregnancy has gone..wow.  I mean we have two trimesters under our belt and one to go; I swear I blinked and here we are.   And while I have seen so incredibly many changes in myself/my body during these last several months, there is positively one thing that has remained constant throughout this entire journey….CITRUS FRUIT.     Continue reading

Bacon + Butternut Flatbreads with Balsamic Drizzle

SONY DSCOh boy.  So I’ve got this pretty amazing girlfriend.  We are raising same-aged children together.  She’s genuine and so caring.  Our husbands totally click.  We both love to work out.  You know, all the good stuff…and it all just works so seamlessly.  But heres the kicker:  She, too, has a case of ADIDAF (All Day I Dream About Food-it’s a thing-I am living proof).  She’s a fabulous cook and she may be the only human I know who loves to eat ALMOST as much as I do ūüėČ  Like, you know, the kind of friend who sends you snap shots of every course at the fantastic new restaurant she is eating at.  The kind of friend that introduces you to rare and ridiculously awesome candy that you have never heard of and you basically faint out of pure delight.  The kind of friend you are delighted to check out new restaurants with because you know she will appreciate all of it as much as you do.  She’s a winner.  In so many ways.

And you know what, when you are a food blogger these types of friends come in super handy.  Not only is she incredibly supportive of Nourished Peach, she makes a stellar sounding board.  For example, our convo last night via text: Continue reading

Spinach and Pancetta Salad with Fried Egg

SONY DSCThis salad has been happening since my husband and I were dating.  It very well could be the reason he asked me to marry him.  And if it is, I am totally okay with that.  I will keep feeding him this for better or worse, as long as we both shall live.  Of course, as long as he shares with me.   Continue reading

Pasta + Zucchini Carbonara

SONY DSC

I’ve assumed for a very long time that everyone makes Pasta Carbonara.  Without a recipe, just by use of memory and repetition. As if it is one of their kitchen staple dishes that they go to when in doubt and in pinch.  And when they are strapped for time and need the worlds fastest dinner on the table. Because thats absolutely how it is for me. But my mama slapped me ever so gently on the wrist when she called the other night when I was whipping this one up, it went a little like this:   Continue reading

Easy Grilled Pork Chops + Pineapple Salsa

SONY DSC

Wow, we haven’t chatted for a while, friends.  My deepest apologies.  We left for a little family reunion late last week and I had every intention of touching base with you while we were on the road.  But, you know.  A couple of kids, 2 hours of rush hour traffic followed by a 3.5 hour road trip sort of got the best of me.  Then, as we were on our way, I thought, you know what, Ill wake up early one day over the weekend and write a quick blog post before everyone rolls out of bed”.  Haha.  My heart was there, I can assure you of that.  Execution, not so much.   Continue reading
