Anything that tastes like dessert but is eligible to be served for breakfast is always welcomed around here. And this Pumpkin Spice Smoothie definitely fits that bill.
Think pumpkin pie, only light, refreshing and FAR more nutritional. Whats not to love? Its
as simple as pie more simple than pie to throw together…just a few ingredients in a blender is all it takes; smooth them and slurp them and feel all fall-like and fuzzy. Eek…this time of year has my heart!
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
notes: use 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup depending on the sweetness you’d like; obviously the more you use, the sweeter it will be. The flax meal is not necessary but a great nutritional and textural add in; if you don’t have any on hand the smoothie will taste just as great without it.
1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
1 Cup Ice
2-3 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
2 Tablespoons Ground Flaxseed/Flaxmeal
3/4 Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and well-combined. Serves 2-3.
