Well, friends, the Vikings lost. While I’m not much of a follower of the NFL, that game was a major deal in our home. Mostly because we were excited to watch our hometown team while having an “appetizer dinner” on the couch….but nonetheless, my heart couldn’t help but break a little for those players. It was a good run, MN!
Our dinner consisted of the worlds largest charcuterie board put together by the kids complete with dips, fruits, meats, chocolate, nuts, the whole she-bang…and this queso dip. This little gem of a queso dip! Continue reading
What are the chances that you are either hosting a gathering in the next few weeks or that you are responsible to take a “dish to share” to someone elses home? Pretty good, I would assume. Tis the season for cocktails, appetizers and gorgeous, festive finger food and friends, I’ve got the hookup right smack dab here.
So, without further ado, I present to you the most merry, yummy, gorgeous little ditties south of the North Pole. Happy App’ing! Continue reading
Weekend warriors! It’s Saturday! What’s the good word?
We have a whole lot of nothing planned this weekend and I just couldn’t be more thrilled about it. The weather here in MN is feeling a bit crisp and fall like-so as you can imagine, I intend on a cozy cup of coffee this morning with my husband who is [finally] back in town and a couple of kids running around in jammies until we decide what random Saturday adventure we would like to partake in. Man, my kind of day. Continue reading
There really is no excuse not to make this stuff. It takes about as much time as it takes to open up a jar of salsa from the market and, well, I don’t need to tell you how the taste compares, right?
We all know how delicious fresh salsa is. And when the tomatoes, peppers and onions are as fresh and perfect as it comes it really is just the most unbeatable condiment on the planet, in my humble opinion. Gobs of garlicky, acidic, sweet, spicy flavor…yes, please, I’ll go right ahead! Continue reading
Do you guys have that urge to cook a solid meal on Sundays? Like, a stick to your ribs, starchy, midwestern type meal? I can’t get over it. I don’t know what it is. But chances are you’ll never see me serving a main course salad or light dish on that savored last-day-of-the-weekend. It just doesn’t feel right. Continue reading
It’s funny. Sunday, in my brain, is supposed to be for ‘Sunday Meals’. You know, the fancy, time-consuming meals you can’t get accomplished during the week. But rarely does it end up being that way around here. Sunday is typically the day I go out during nap time and get my meal plan/shopping done for the week. It sounds silly, but that little mission takes time, so I am always rushing back home to get dinner on the table before it’s too late. Sunday dinners usually need to be low maintenance and ultra quick for me. And often times that means firing up the grill to throw steak or fish on and often times it’s paired with these Grilled Sweet Potato Wedges. Insanely quick. Continue reading
Sunshiney weather calls for sunshiney food! And these quesadillas are all that..and a bag of delicious.
By using chicken breast tenderloins and just a few simple ingredients you are allowed to marinate and cook the chicken so incredibly quickly. Perfect for a weeknight. Fabulous for any night. Or day. So good. Continue reading
If you know me you can pretty much call it a day after reading the title of this recipe. Say no more, me. But I can’t help myself. This is 187% my kind of food. I think it could be yours, too, if you knew what was good for you. Continue reading
Well, it was bound to happen. I can’t believe this is the first time in 3+ years that something with regard to my camera has gone missing. In an effort to wear my noble parent hat I agreed to let my daughter play “photographer” and carry around the camera bag last night while I was making dinner. I should’ve grabbed the bag from her the minute I saw it in her hand but with grandma and grandpa over, starving, wining toddlers and dinner still in 50 million pieces I decided to ignore it and allow her to play with it. Continue reading
