Pasta + Zucchini Carbonara

SONY DSC

I’ve assumed for a very long time that everyone makes Pasta Carbonara.  Without a recipe, just by use of memory and repetition. As if it is one of their kitchen staple dishes that they go to when in doubt and in pinch.  And when they are strapped for time and need the worlds fastest dinner on the table. Because thats absolutely how it is for me. But my mama slapped me ever so gently on the wrist when she called the other night when I was whipping this one up, it went a little like this:   Continue reading

Do you guys have that urge to cook a solid meal on Sundays?  Like, a stick to your ribs, starchy, midwestern type meal?  I can’t get over it.  I don’t know what it is.  But chances are you’ll never see me serving a main course salad or light dish on that savored last-day-of-the-weekend.  It just doesn’t feel right.  Continue reading

Guys!  My mama is here!  Like, at my house!  And because there is just SO darn many things to accomplish in her short trip here {i.e.: loving on my kiddos, coffee-sipping, staying up too late gabbing, shopping, donuts, playgrounds + parks, you know, all the good stuff} I haven’t had a chance to edit the recipe photos I intended on sharing with you today. But I’ve got something fun, nonetheless.   Continue reading

This boring old tomato had been staring me in the eye for days and I finally caved.  I knew it wasn’t the kind of tomato that was worthy of being eaten alone with a little salt.  After all, it is March.  But I needed to utilize it in some way.  So I sliced it up and away to the oven it went for a roast.   Continue reading

If you’re looking for a phenomenal tasting, ridiculously quick and easy recipe for a warm, cozy pot of soup head on over to Twin Cities Moms Blog, friends.  I shared a family favorite today that I’m pretty positive you will adore as much as we do.  I have shared the recipe with you in the past, but it’s been a while, so in case you’ve forgotten about it or missed it the first time around I thought it would only be noble of me to share it again.  Especially considering the forecast here in Minnesota for the weekend.  Oye.  A piping hot bowl of this stuff juuuust might come in handy…brrr!     Continue reading

Let’s just get right down to it.   Continue reading
