I don’t even know where to begin, you guys. I made this dish a while back and I am literally about ready to jump through the screen in an attempt to devour these photos because I want to eat this again immediately. Incredible. Just incredible.
Now let’s just start from the beginning, okay? Urban Halo…yes? No? If you haven’t…you are welcome for the introduction, and I apologize for your addiction all at the same time. I’ve been a fan of this company and their headbands for a solid couple of years and for so many valid reasons…it’s local, started by a fellow mama like myself who was looking to create the most stylish, functional headbands on the planet and I’m pretty sure she has accomplished her mission. These are my gym bff (and they don’t slip!!!)..and they are cute and comfy enough to keep on all day long after my workout. Also, pretty much my saving grace on those rush-out-the-door mornings with no time to do my hair. Not to mention Georgia is also obsessed..and man do they look cute on a silly little five year old, too. So fun to share my stash with her! Continue reading
Now what in the heck was I supposed to call these things, you guys? They are the most random twist on one of my all-time favorite sandwiches and this name was all that my tired, pregnant brain could come up with. If you can come up with a better one, please do share.
Now heres the deal. If you love a good reuben sandwich and you love cabbage you might go wack-a-doodle over this combination. It’s a reuben gone healthful and light…but you won’t for one second miss that bread and cheese, I promise. Continue reading
I have been hardcore craving Lebanese food. And I’m not talking just a yummy shawarma I can get from a local food truck. I want the real deal…mamas cooking, preferably. The authentic flavors, the comfort, all of it. So I did a little playing around in my kitchen this past week and man have I seen the light!
This One Pan Lebanese Chicken and Lentil Pilaf is not a traditional Lebanese dish. It is a lazy-cooks version of a couple of dishes combined and can I just say that it’s the best lazy-move I may have ever made in the kitchen? The most tender, flavorful chicken paired with a savory lentil pilaf is a match made in heaven. Continue reading
Can you believe it’s February already? How is this happening, you guys? It seems like just yesterday we were in the midst of Thanksgiving preparation, and now, we are full blown into winter and darn near our decent into Spring. Spring! I mean I know I’m jumping the gun a bit here…but it will be here before we know it, no?
And that pretty much makes me feel all sorts of crazy emotions. Because spring equals baby’s arrival…eek! I can’t even begin to tell you how insanely fast this pregnancy has gone..wow. I mean we have two trimesters under our belt and one to go; I swear I blinked and here we are. And while I have seen so incredibly many changes in myself/my body during these last several months, there is positively one thing that has remained constant throughout this entire journey….CITRUS FRUIT. Continue reading
It won’t stop, you guys. All things comfort. All day. Every day. I’m not sure if its the damp, cold weather happening around here or the fact that theres a precious tiny little human growing inside of me but COMFORT FOOD, I will find you.
And soups are at the very top of my comfort food list these days. It’s December, after all-seems only appropriate. As I’ve told you in the past, soups are one of my very favorite dishes to create because there are just no rules. Soups are so forgiving. Throw in what you’ve got in the fridge and with a few of the right aromatics, spices and garnishes you’re practically good to go. This soup right here? This Southwest Chicken, Bacon and Potato Soup? You just must. Continue reading
Good day, friends! I hope your weekend was what a long-Thanksgiving weekend should be…relaxing, fun and yummy-food-filled! And now, back to the grind. But let me tell you, this salad is a mighty fine way to start that grind.
If we are Instagram buddies you may have seen my recent obsession with the Kale + Broccoli Salad from Lunds and Byerlys, a local grocer around these parts. And you guys, the obsession is legit. LE-GIT. You know I’m a sucker for super-grain farro to begin with, especially in salad form. But besides my beloved farro, this salad just has gobs of goodies in it: kale, broccoli, parmesan, apricots, sun dried tomatoes. Weird combo, no? No! You wont believe what that flavor/texture hodge podge does…it will knock your socks off! Continue reading
Oh for all things yum. If you’re looking for a warm, yet light, fresh weeknight meal idea look no further, friends. These bowls right here are the whole shebang.
Let’s start with the tahini sauce. If you have even the slightest relationship with hummus this stuff will knock your socks off. I eat it on everything. I mean everything. From green salad dressing to veggie dip to burger topping to sweet potato fry dunking. Tart and garlicky and creamy and oh my golly I just can’t get enough. Continue reading
