Sweet and Savory Crostini

This was positively not supposed to happen today.  I had a plan.  I am dependent on my plans.   For this, I blame my children.

Pre kids I could’ve won awards for flying by the seat of my pants.  Always down for whatever.  Always willing to juggle around my days.  And top notch at getting side tracked and staying up into the late hours of the evening in order to complete the most important task that needed to be done that day.  Procrastination was a strong suit of mine.  It still is, but there is now a schedule.  That part has just got to stick. Maple Coconut Snack Nuts

‘The Holidays’.  Is it safe to say they are upon us?  I’m going to  go ahead and declare a yay on that.  It is November, after all.  And the hustle and bustle is right around the corner.  I’ll be the first to admit, I love it.  Most of it.

I love it because of the constant gathering around the table with loved ones. People just tend to get together more often, at least in my world.  Whether it’s a group of couples having  a fun dinner out on the town, old friends who are hosting a gathering in an effort to get the ‘gang’ back together, or simply having dinner at other families houses, we just tend to do it more often around this time of year.  And I’m TOTALLY cool with that. Gluten Free Ranch Pretzels

SONY DSC

So I’ve got this darling sister that happens to make the most ridiculously wonderful ‘Dill Prezels’ on the planet.  Like, the kind of pretzels to write home about.  They are out of control…buttery, dilly, crunchy and about as addicting as a black market drug. Continue reading

So hockey has officially begun.  Pair that with football season and I’m basically left with pleeeeennty of inspiration for game-day eats.   Continue reading

Balsamic, Buttermilk and Bleu Tomato Salad

Try saying that 3 times quickly.

This number right here is borderline too inappropriate to write about.  Its over the top.  Savory, sweet, acidic, pungent, bright.

Lets just hold the phone.   Continue reading

Chicken, Black Bean and Avocado Eggrolls

SONY DSC

Serve them as an appetizer, snack or dinner.  Quite honestly, Id choose seconds instead of dessert any day of the week.  The chopped avocado inside of the egg roll is the most awesome surprise…and of course, all of its co-stars get my props, too.   Continue reading

Grilled Chicken, Roasted Tomato and Goat Cheese Flatbreads

Boy have I missed you guys.  Have you been enjoying this crazy-wonderful weather?  This time of year…I just can’t get enough.  We’ve been trying our best to soak in all of this sunshine…swimming, farmers-marketing, park-hopping, festival-ing and patio dining galore.  It’s definitely all sunshine and rainbows…but it doesn’t leave me much time in the kitchen for dinner prep.  These flatbreads have become quite the time-saver around here…and I can’t even begin to tell you how absolutely amazing they taste. 3 Fast, Simple Ways to Glorify Pulled Pork

SONY DSC

Can you believe this weather, you guys?  It’s finally here.  And my guess is you want to be out enjoying it as much as possible…I know that is the case for me.  On top wanting to spend time outdoors things are a little nuts for all of us this time of year with weddings, graduation parties, end-of-school parties and BBQs.  Combine them all and it doesn’t leave much time to prepare meals, at least in my house.
